About Bryant

If you could choose between having every worthy material possession in life and the ability to always be happy, which would you pick? It’s a head scratcher, I know. That’s why I’ll try and limit the amount of philosophical material I throw at you guys.

My name is Bryant Zadegan, and I live in the United States. Besides running this blog, jumping around events, working, learning, and serving as the chief editor of another blog (AeroXperience), I enjoy spending time with a rather decent grouping of friends. Quite a lot of my time is spent around a multitude of computers which I don’t own, and I always manage to find a way online when I’m not paired with my own hardware. I love computers and I usually love it when Windows is on computers. I have a fairly visible pro-Windows slant, which is evidenced by this interesting little badge which I can legitimately affix to my resumé and anywhere else associated with me:

So what is the point of this blog?

Simple. I’m going to attend as many events as I can for the sake of attending the events. In the process, I’ll cover both the informational aspects of these events as well as the social life which revolves around the events and the people who attend. Almost all of my content will be in the form of videos (up to 1080p) and there will hopefully be a lot.

The point of this blog is not to crack into the top X on technorati or to become the most popular blog of all time. I’ll leave that to the ones who are actually paid to do what they do. I’m doing this because I enjoy it.

Is there any rhyme or reason in deciding which events you want to go to?

At first, I’ll be focused completely on Microsoft events. As time goes on, I’ll diversify (CES 2009 and MacWorld 2009 are two events I plan on hitting next year). Over time, if all goes well, I’ll do just about any event which isn’t an anime convention (this could change), a religious convention (this could change), or a cult event (this won’t change). After computers, I’m aiming for automotive events.

Why Microsoft?

I started as a Microsoft beta tester before a certain group of Microsoft employees decided to ruin my experience. However, Microsof is a massive corporation. Like all massive corporations, one arm usually won’t have any idea what the other arm is up to, nor will they care. Microsoft’s PR teams decided to embrace my ideas for event coverage, so Microsoft events are what I am most familiar with.

Why not anime conventions? Those guys are so cultured! ;_;

Anime conventions are packed with people who camp their basements and have library shelves filled with pirated anime porn. It’s a terrible stereotype, but that’s not the type of culture I want to catch on tape. Also, don’t use that face.

This may change depending on who I want to meet. However, if I do end up going to an anime convention, I don’t plan on capturing anyone talking about which episode of True Tears or H2O was the greatest ever.

How fast will you update this site?

Due to the nature of event schedules, I won’t be able to update the site as often as I’d like. During events, frequent updates are a safe thing to assume. During periods of general eventless boringness, updates will be infrequent, though I’ll keep everyone tuned into my planning efforts.

Is this a solo project?

Almost never. I’ll usually have someone else with me either holding the camera or asking the questions. On rare occasions, I may attend an event by myself. In this case, there is a good likelihood that most of my coverage will be in the form of audio and not video (think podcasts).

No, you can’t come (this may change).

Are you fair and balanced?

If “fair and balanced” includes a “full disclosure” note or a disclaimer of some sort on the bottom of any blatantly slanted posts, then sure.

Will you obey a takedown request from a major corporation?

There won’t be a takedown request from a major corporation. If I get one, then I’m going to tell them to hire a new PR team. Almost everything on here will be cleared by each company’s respective PR teams before coming online.

What about a request from a human being who doesn’t want to be in your videos?

I’ll censor his/her face and details out of any videos in question if I was not given prior authorization to allow said person in the footage. However, once I am authorized to include a person in a video, that person is stuck there forever.

Forever is a long time.

Why do you provide 1080p footage?

Because I can.

What about bandwidth?

Mirrors are appreciated.

Ad-free?

For a little bit. You’ll likely see sponsorship notes in these videos (These trips are expensive!) but I’ll try and keep the ads away unless they become necessary.

How do I get in touch with you?
